DIY Calendar

Two days ago on a whim, I made a calendar.

Looking at the original photo, which taken last year while coffee-ing at C Restaurant, my mind momentarily traveled back in time. As the laughter, the jokes, and encouragements came flooding into remembrance, my face couldn't help but draw a smile :)

I'm using this picture as my desktop background - and you are welcome to use it too. Just click on the picture and 'save as'.

So now every time the computer switches on, I see this photo and the sweetness of Christian fellowship fills my heart!

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" - Psalm 133:1

Farewell, September of 2010!
T'was a good one :)

Thought sharing on the way to work

I've been assigned to Perth both yesterday and today.

So work did not fly me to the Eastern States, or a fabulous Capital City overseas...

I . Am . Home!

Haven't caught Public Transport in a while, I'm loving hands off steering wheel :) Using my hands for more productive things in life such as blogging!

Have a blessed day at work/school. Don't forget that today is day 23 of 30in30. Haver you shared the Gospel yet today :)

Evangelism is not salesmanship. It is not urging people, pressing them, coercing them, overwhelming them, or subduing them. Evangelism is telling a message. Evangelism is reporting good news - Richard Halverson

My personal prayer for today:

Optrex Eye Wash

If you sit in front of a computer all day long, as I do, you will know that by the end of the day, your eyes can be sore and tired. If this is you and if you haven't been sleeping enough lately, as I have been, I hope that you will find this entry helpful.

One morning I woke up and found that my eyes were drier & more irritated than normal. When I looked into the distance and couldn't see clearly, I started panicking. My panic and frustration escalated as I am not usually one to suffer with eye problems. My eyes felt really itchy and they were sore and red.

So when Christine bought me Optrex Eye Wash ($9.95), I was truly over the moon.

An 110mL of 'moisture replenishing formula balanecd at the natural pH lever of tears', claims to 'gently bathe, rehydrate and soothe uncomfortable eyes caused by everyday living'.

INGREDIENTS
-----------------------
Water
Hamamelis water
Boric acid
Glycerin
Borax
Benzalkonium chloride

*External use only
**Discard 3 months after opening

Did I mention that it comes with a cute little plastic eye bath?

Cuteness aside, its could do better with the design and be better shaped for the face. I find that solution leaks unless I press the eye bath rather tightly against my face.

DIRECTIONS
----------------------

1. Rinse eye bath with Wash immediately before and after use.
2. Gently pour Wash into eye bath until one third full.
3. Bend head slightly forward, holding eye bath by its base.
4. Place eye bath over the eye.
5. Slowly raise head with eye open so that the Wash flows freely over it.
6. Gently rock head from side to side for at least 30 seconds.
7. Discard any Wash left in eye bath.
8. Repeat Steps 1-6 for other eye with fresh Wash.

I keep my eye closed until the solution is upwards and then I open my eye and blinked my eyes while at the same time rocked my head from side to side.

Immediately after using this eye wash my eyes felt better.

The itch was gone and my eyes were moist and lubricated. The tightness I felt in my eyes earlier was greatly reduced and both my eyes felt very clean.

Amazed? You ain't seen nothing yet!

Ready to see my results?????

*DRUM ROLLS PLEASE...............................................................* !!

In the left eye, a short, broken eyelash.

Have you ever experienced the pain from an eyelash that got into your eye and starts scratching your eyeball? It hurts so bad yet you are too scared to 'pick' the lash out with your fingers! Ouchhh~~

And in the right eye:

One... Two... Three.. FOUR!! Four giant dusts!?!!

But wait there's MORE!

Another dust trickled down my eye with the leaked Wash.
(Notice how moist my eye is straight after using the Wash :))

But that's besides the point... How long have they been in my eyes?! No wonder the discomfort!

I was genuinely, and pleasantly, surprised. I had absolutely no idea that foreign bodies had invaded the precious windows to my Soul.

I found that Optrex Eye Wash was very gentle, it didn't sting nor cause irritation. After few hours though, the tense feeling returned and the redness was back. Having said that, my eyes still felt clean and refreshed. I think it's the lack of sleep that's making my eyes dry and tense.

I am going to permanently add Optrex Eye Wash to the medicine cabinet and use it to relieve my tired eyes and when something goes in my eye :) It is really good at flushing out things that shouldn't be there!

Now I know never to take my eyes for granted.

Sleep tight :)

Pic Sharing - Weekend Happenings

As another work-week came to an end, I happily welcomed the weekend with open arms. With nothing formally planned, I was up for anything :)

The weekend began with cake, black forrest cake :)

Ok, so the above picture doesn't do the cake any justice.
Here it is again without lomo effect.
Miss Maud, eat your heart out ;)

Then Rowas and I went shopping in Coles Supermarket and bought us dinner for two... Or five!

2 x Frozen Pizza
Wedges
Cheese & crakers & olives
Our friends Shirlyn and Truc brought BBQ chicken
Kang joined in the feast too
Thank God for the fellowship that night.

The latest VaVaVroom

After food and drink, we brought out our inner child and set about painting.
Who needs a computer and printer when you have a paintbrush in hand!

The end product.
Inner child is happy.

Sunday arvo was spent in true blue Aussie style in a quirky cafe in East Perth.

Truc: Nothing here matches.. Which makes it match!
I reckon this started out as a way to cut costs,
and turned into a great business concept!

$3.80 Latte

Growing vegetables & herbs in pots to use as decor.
Another great way to save!

Coffee was pretty decent, aromatic & creamy :)

Our beautiful East Perth.

The guests.

The Coaster.

The unique gift.

The cuddly cushion.

The weekend ended with dinner at Antico Cafe.
A memorable night filled with laughter and trip down the memory lane.

Back to work for now..
Anticipating the coming of another weekend!

September Murmur

13 days into Spring, Perth weather is absolutely gorgeous.

一點點的冷,一些些的雨
暖暖的太陽和涼涼的微風

I . Love . Spring!

13 days into 30in30, I'm behind by few tracts.

This is where I go 'tracting', usually during lunch time and when I do banking.
A calm and quiet place, an Oasis just outside the vibrancy of Garden City :)

13 days into September, I tested and trialed email blogging.

Hence the random posts of late...
Keeping blabs short and sweet :)

13 days into September, I ditched the iron

In favour of a professional garment steamer!
Joy!!
$150 wise investment (more in future post).

13 days into September, I waved Probation goodbye.

Thank God for past 3 months of steep learning,
Couldn't have done it without His grace.
The appointment of permanent position is God's love.

13 days into September, I am certified.

The word 'competent' printed on this shiny piece of paper made me want to cry.
All credit to the Almighty God and none of me.
Without Him, I am nothing.

13 days into September, house hunting continues.

The plan took a big step forward as I came off probational status.
Note to self, speak to Ross!

13 days into September, 3 days till my didi comes home.

Did he lose weight? Gained weight?
We've all missed him much :)

13 days into September, Christine is a legend for introducing me to Eyewash.

But what's with the evil look!?! Find out in future post :)
I'm truly appreciating more and more of having a Pharmacist (soon-to-be) sister.

13 days into September, February trips seem none the closer.

I am being patient
When the time comes
It'll be beautiful :)

13 days into September, finally lodged tax return;

13 days into September, all 3 rooms are shiny clean;

13 days into September, life is worth the living, just because He lives!

Monday II

Breakfast with mum :)

***

Monday

6:27AM

Time to rise and shine

The bee beat me to it

Since it's still early

There is time for brekky and morning devotion

Thank God for this time in the morning :)
