Unremovable Promise 拿不掉的承諾

Mom's wedding ring was stuck to her finger that no amount of diet helped.

It looked something like this (but not as bad):

For days poor mom was in silent agony because the stuck diamond ring was blocking blood circulation to her ring finger.

So finally, she decided to have it cut!

We went to Mazzucchelli's Jeweler in Garden City and the woman there had a sweet tool like the one pictured below:

Within seconds mom's ring finger was free to wiggle again! But the ring was in bad shape and needed repair. For a fee of $180 mom's ring will look like new again with a half shape makeover (technical term I learnt from the Jeweler) and promises to fit her finger like a dream.

But better still is that dad agreed to purchase mom a bigger, clearer and whiter diamond from Rosendorff.

Bling in its ultimate form!

My itchy finger

Last night when filling out an online survey, a "mobile fun4 hours" ad popped up in the form of a quiz that wouldn't go away.

Unable to navigate to the next page where the actual survey was, I devised an ingenious plan to "pretend enter" the quiz with a totally random mobile number that is so random in nature no one in Australia would be its proud owner.

But as soon as I did that, I regretted it.

Because I may have just signed someone up for "a diverse range of mobile content and entertainment including music, games, video, information services, graphics and applications."

All for the very cheap price of 2x $6.90 upon joining and an ongoing subscription fee of $6.90 every 3 days.

OH BOY... What did I get myself into...

Imagine my amplified horror upon finding out that this supposedly imaginary mobile number isn't so random after all! It actually has a proper owner who wants to get to rid of it. "This account is up for sale and if you are interested, please contact me on 04xx xxx xxx" said the voicemail at 11:30pm.

Immediately this terrible sense of sorry and guilt for what I've done so inconsiderately washed over me... I felt sick to the stomach.

Realizing that there was absolutely nothing I could do except to tell God about it, I began praying. After prayer I felt more peaceful but none the less sorry. I began writing an email to Mobile fun4 hours' helpdesk explaining what happened and what a thoughtless mistake it was.

Followed by a draggy night of sleep.

The next morning I nervously dialed the phone number to Mobile fun4 hours' helpdesk. Cutting the story short, apparently subscriptions are double 'locked' to avoid acts of stupidity like mine. What a huge relief! God answered my prayer and saved me from a potential disaster!

No more itchy fingers in the future!

Brother and sister day

Today brother Sun and sister Sun got to hang out.

In the morning we were at church then went to have lunch at Sunday Everyday. Then we played a word game of 'catch the dragon' to test each other's Chinese and had a fun time of silly laughs. In the afternoon we headed to the bank to deposit some money and when we got back, Stevo and I washed our cars until it was time for dinner.

Phew,

That's heaps of stuff done!

But more importantly, we also had PLENTY of time to talk and share some very personal lessons and convictions from God... Which I won't share publicly... just yet!
