Mom's wedding ring was stuck to her finger that no amount of diet helped.
It looked something like this (but not as bad):
For days poor mom was in silent agony because the stuck diamond ring was blocking blood circulation to her ring finger.
So finally, she decided to have it cut!
We went to Mazzucchelli's Jeweler in Garden City and the woman there had a sweet tool like the one pictured below:
Within seconds mom's ring finger was free to wiggle again! But the ring was in bad shape and needed repair. For a fee of $180 mom's ring will look like new again with a half shape makeover (technical term I learnt from the Jeweler) and promises to fit her finger like a dream.
But better still is that dad agreed to purchase mom a bigger, clearer and whiter diamond from Rosendorff.
Faith (Faith) n. Belief; the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting solely and implicitly on his authority and veracity. "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." (Romans 1:17)

My itchy finger
Last night when filling out an online survey, a "mobile fun4 hours" ad popped up in the form of a quiz that wouldn't go away.
Unable to navigate to the next page where the actual survey was, I devised an ingenious plan to "pretend enter" the quiz with a totally random mobile number that is so random in nature no one in Australia would be its proud owner.
But as soon as I did that, I regretted it.
Because I may have just signed someone up for "a diverse range of mobile content and entertainment including music, games, video, information services, graphics and applications."
All for the very cheap price of 2x $6.90 upon joining and an ongoing subscription fee of $6.90 every 3 days.
OH BOY... What did I get myself into...

OH BOY... What did I get myself into...
Imagine my amplified horror upon finding out that this supposedly imaginary mobile number isn't so random after all! It actually has a proper owner who wants to get to rid of it. "This account is up for sale and if you are interested, please contact me on 04xx xxx xxx" said the voicemail at 11:30pm.
Immediately this terrible sense of sorry and guilt for what I've done so inconsiderately washed over me... I felt sick to the stomach.
Realizing that there was absolutely nothing I could do except to tell God about it, I began praying. After prayer I felt more peaceful but none the less sorry. I began writing an email to Mobile fun4 hours' helpdesk explaining what happened and what a thoughtless mistake it was.
Followed by a draggy night of sleep.
The next morning I nervously dialed the phone number to Mobile fun4 hours' helpdesk. Cutting the story short, apparently subscriptions are double 'locked' to avoid acts of stupidity like mine. What a huge relief! God answered my prayer and saved me from a potential disaster!
No more itchy fingers in the future!

Brother and sister day
Today brother Sun and sister Sun got to hang out.
In the morning we were at church then went to have lunch at Sunday Everyday. Then we played a word game of 'catch the dragon' to test each other's Chinese and had a fun time of silly laughs. In the afternoon we headed to the bank to deposit some money and when we got back, Stevo and I washed our cars until it was time for dinner.
Phew,
That's heaps of stuff done!
But more importantly, we also had PLENTY of time to talk and share some very personal lessons and convictions from God... Which I won't share publicly... just yet!

I ♥ all things blue lately, especially when blue meets white.
Like clear clouds floating in blue sky, perfect harmony as painted by God.
Stevie fell unwell today, the poor little one stayed in bed all day dozing in and out of sleep. At noon I made him a simple lunch before heading out to an arts supply shop in Myaree. Upon returning, his lunch was briefly nibbled at.
No, it wasn't my cooking... Just in case there are doubts!
Stevie apologized saying he tried eating but the appetite wasn't there. Now feeling more sorry for him than ever, I scooped out the flesh of a mango for his lunch instead.
Btw, thank God that 3 was able to reduce an $11 charge on my account today as a one-off good will!

Love as I loved
Love as I loved
When our Lord as speaking to the crowd, a beggar came
Who fell down before Christ and called out His name.
The disciples quickly came,
And they turned the man away,
Till they saw the Lord's compassion
And they heard the Savior say:
Love as I loved,
Give as I gave;
These are the people that I came to save.
Love as I loved, and I will shine through.
Let others see My love in you.
Give as I gave;
These are the people that I came to save.
Love as I loved, and I will shine through.
Let others see My love in you.
Yesterday my time was filled with vain and empty things,
And I was so busy with all that life brings.
People crowded in my way,
But I pushed them all away they were just a senseless bother
Till I heard the Savior say:
Love as I loved,
Give as I gave;
These are the people that I came to save.
Love as I loved, and I will shine through.
Let others see My love in you.
Give as I gave;

What's your Nescafe Moment?
An ordinary cup of Nescafé Gold brought precious memories into remembrance.
As its rich and creamy coffee aroma filled up every corner of the room, my thoughts began traveling back in time...
Having grown up on Nescafé, you can scorn me but it matters little. The taste of brewed stuff is undoubtedly better but isn't worth the trouble of having to clean the coffee machine afterward.
As for now...
I'll savor the Nescafé Moment a little longer. Sneaking a rest before more studying tonight.

My daddy my hero!
As the Sun Family's boss, my daddy works very hard to provide for his family.
He takes care of us to the very best he can!
My daddy is also a cheeky person, always one up for a good laugh.
You can joke around with him but if you accidentally pushed the wrong button,
quickly run as far in the opposite direction as possible!
Minutes later when all's forgotten,
daddy will whip up the most juicy steamed fish on planet earth for dinner at night.
This is dad before he lost a lot of weight.

For Father's Day dinner, we went to Singapore Hawkers Food.
Dad ducked into the kitchen to say hi to the boss,
then came out with delicious shark fin soup which he made himself.
Dad trusts nobody with shark fin preparation!

Our simple dinner: honey pepper spare ribs, salt and pepper snow crab, shezchuan fish and shredded pork, seafood claypot and shark fin soup.
After dinner daddy visited more friends at the Korean HiMart next door.
There he treated us to ice cream and fancy Korean drinks.

2009 Sept 30in30 begins!
Today is the first day of September 30in30 2009,
last night's recurring thought was that this year's going to be a challenge.
Currently not working nor studying, most of my time is spent at home...
How to evangelise if I stayed at home all the time?
"No sort of defense is needed for preaching out of doors;
but it would need very potent arguments to prove that a man had done his duty
who has never preaches beyond the walls of his meeting place."
Charles Spurgeon

Primitive Internet
First and foremost, apologies for the blog abandonment of late...
Secondly, I'm frustrated.
Downloaded like a million stuff in 5 days, I blew our internet quota in the first week of the month. I will wear this embarrassing record of Stupidity because I totally deserve it.
The past 20 days were pure torture. I refuse to relive the experience by telling you all about it.
Thank God for an understanding brother... despite being not at all happy Jane, Stevo isn't giving me a hard time (which makes me all the more guilty)...
Lastly, allow me to formally announce that I
"LOATHE DIAL-UP INTERNET (SPEED)!!!"

Today's Bible Reading which I loved...
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies,
kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another,
if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
